Talking Therapy
Why Us?
Talking Therapy
Talking Therapy is an opportunity for you to talk about your problems and feelings in a confidential, safe, and supportive environment. Counselling and psychotherapy aim to help you deal with and overcome issues that are causing emotional pain, making you feel overwhelmed, or preventing you from enjoying your life fully.
Our therapists have completed years of training and hold professional qualifications that enable them to support you while respecting your views and experiences.
They will help you develop your own insights and understanding of your concerns. You will be listened to with empathy and offered a non-judgmental space where you can explore what may be blocking you from living a healthier and happier life.
What is the Difference Between Counselling and Psychotherapy?
Counselling usually refers to a shorter-term approach that focuses on behaviour patterns and current difficulties.
Psychotherapy often involves working together over a longer period of time and may explore deeper emotional patterns and experiences that influence how we think, feel, and respond to life.
Understanding Trauma
A trauma-informed therapist has the knowledge and training to recognise and support the complex ways difficult life experiences can affect emotional wellbeing.
This approach helps create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can begin to understand their experiences and move forward at their own pace.
Equality and Diversity
Our therapists provide support without judgement and recognise the diverse and complex needs of each client. They respect individual experiences, identities, and circumstances, and work in a way that acknowledges how these may influence a person’s life and wellbeing.
What to Expect
Many people feel a great sense of relief simply by sharing their worries or fears with someone who listens and understands.
Therapy may sometimes involve discussing difficult or painful feelings, but with the guidance and support of your therapist, you can begin to develop new ways of understanding and managing these emotions, leading to positive and lasting changes in your life.
Long-Term or Short-Term Therapy
In most cases, it takes a number of sessions before therapy begins to make a noticeable difference, and regular attendance helps you gain the most benefit from the process.
For some clients, only a few sessions are needed before they feel able to manage their situation more positively.
This can all be explored and discussed with your therapist to decide what feels right for you.
